Privacy Policy

How the tool works

HideShot is a client-side web application. When you upload an image, it is loaded into your browser's memory and drawn onto an HTML canvas element on your screen. All redaction operations — black box, blur, pixelate — are performed locally by your browser's JavaScript engine.

When you click Download, your browser generates the final PNG directly from the canvas and saves it to your device. At no point does any image data travel over the internet to HideShot or any third party.

What we do collect

HideShot uses standard web analytics (such as Google Analytics or similar) to understand basic traffic patterns. This may include:

• Pages visited and time on page
• General geographic region (country/city level)
• Browser type and device type
• Referring website

This data is aggregate and anonymous. It does not include any image content or personally identifiable information.

Advertising

HideShot displays ads served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's ad settings.

Ad partners may collect anonymized data about your visit per their own privacy policies. HideShot does not share any image data with advertisers — because we never have access to it in the first place.

Cookies

HideShot itself does not set any cookies. Third-party services (Google Analytics, Google AdSense) may set their own cookies per their respective privacy policies.

Children's privacy

HideShot does not knowingly collect any data from children under 13. The site does not require registration or any personal information to use.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of HideShot after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
